Ernestine Pippin Essex, 74, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held at a later date according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Ms. Essex was born October 22, 1938 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Ernest E. Pippin, Sr. and Helen Tutherow Pippin. She worked as a cashier at Walmart.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Baxley.
Survivors include her daughter, Candice D. Overton and son, Steve L. Overton both of Omaha, NE, sisters, Barbara Preskitt (John) of Wetumpka, AL, Annie E. Jenkins of Phenix City, AL, Shirley Rideout of Indiana, Betty L. Willard (Dan) of Bella Vista, AR and Julia Webster of Columbus, GA, brother, Ernest Pippin, Jr. (Eugenia) of Ashland, KY, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society 233 12th St. #710 Columbus, GA 31901.
