Columbus, GA - Mrs. Eneida Torres Rowan, 83, left us on October 11, 2017, however, her soul and memories will stay with us forever.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. EST, Monday, October 16, 2017 at McMullen Funeral Home with Pastor Bud Rupel officiating, followed by a short visitation. Graveside service will be held at Parkhill Cemetery immediately following visitation.
Mrs. Rowan was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico. She moved to Georgia in 1952 after her marriage to Robert Rowan who was serving in the U.S. Airforce. She loved her family and friends, but nothing compared to her grandchildren.
She enjoyed listening to Spanish music, raising African Violets, watching hummingbirds and the Atlanta Braves. Before she retired, Eneida loved her job at St. Francis Hospital as a patient escort in the Radiology Department. Eneida and her family appreciate the kindness extended over years by caregivers and the staff at both Calvary Community and River Towne Center.
She is survived by three daughters: Mary (Jean) Boulay of Easley SC, Catherine Pitts of Fortson GA, and Wanda Rowan (and her husband, John Hodson) of Kailua-Kona HI; four grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, a sister Aurea (Lala) Ducos of Rio Piedras PR and many nieces and nephews.
