Elzie Elmore

Elzie Elmore, 94, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2021 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Patricia Burns officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be at Parkhill cemetery. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 facemask and social distancing will be required during the services and visitation.

Elzie was born September 18, 1926 to the late Joseph Roy Elmore, Sr. and Nezzie Graham Elmore. She worked for  Civil Service at the Transportation Department for 43 years.  She was a Charter member at St. Andrews United Methodist Church. She was a passionate, caring person always taking care of family and friends. She left a legacy of grace and kindness. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Audrey Smith (Tom) and brother, Jepthy “Bobo” Elmore (Jean).

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Mickie Rabren (Robert) of Edgewater, FL, brother, Joseph Roy Elmore, Jr. (Vickie) of Greer, SC, Ellis Elmore (Brenda) of Greenville, SC, several nieces, nephews and other family members.
