Al Miller, 97, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away on August 30, 2023. He was born on May 22, 1926, in Buffalo, New York, to Elmer and Mildred Miller. Al was known to his loved ones as Elmer Clayton Miller, but he preferred to go by Al.

A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends to honor Al's life according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Al is survived by his brother, George Miller, who resides in Casselberry, Florida, and his son, Robert Miller, who lives in Hiawassee, Georgia. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Ryan Miller of Roswell, Georgia, and Jason Miller of Bastrup, Texas, as well as two great-grandchildren.

Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothea A. Miller, his father, Elmer Miller, his mother, Mildred Miller, and his brother, Carl Miller.

Al's educational journey began at Gatwick Primary School in North Tonawanda, New York. He later attended N. Tonawanda High School in N. Tonawanda, New York. Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, Al earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbus College in Columbus, Georgia.

Al proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1968, and he was a veteran of World War II. His dedication and commitment to his country were commendable.

Following his military service, Al embarked on a career as an investigator for the District Attorney's office in Columbus, Georgia. He dedicated 18 years of his life to this important work, serving his community with diligence and integrity.

In his free time, Al enjoyed various hobbies that brought him joy and relaxation. He had a passion for photography, capturing beautiful moments through the lens of his camera. Gardening allowed him to connect with nature, nurturing plants and blossoms with care. Al also loved challenging his mind with crossword puzzles and found solace in music.

Al Miller will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his country, and his community. His legacy of service and his warm spirit will be cherished by all who knew him.
