Ellen Carol Brewer Thomas, 88, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Gary Tankersley officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thomas was born December 15, 1929 in Cheraw, SC daughter of the late Thomas Austin Brewer, Sr. and Paulene Parker Brewer. She retired from AFLAC as a Systems Analyst and was a member of the AFLAC Old Timers. Mrs. Thomas was a member of HarvestPointe Church where she also served as the Sunday School Treasurer and Church librarian. She was a wonderful Christian lady who loved the Lord. She also loved to cook and travel and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Wayne Thomas and Junius Willetts, sister, Madeline Riggleman, and brother, Thomas Austin Brewer, Jr.
Survivors include her sons, Charles Willetts (Michelle), Rudy Willetts (Becky), Steve Willetts (Jewel) and Phill Willetts (Ceretha), grandchildren, Michael Willetts (Kristin), Shelley Reed (Chase), Thomas Willetts, Sophia Kristek (Garrett), Zachary Willetts (Brittany) and Jacob Willetts, and great grandchildren, Bradie Reed, Trey Cash, Trent Cash, Miller Willetts and Gavin Kristek.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to HarvestPointe Church 7777 Whitesville Rd. Columbus, GA 31904, American Heart Association 4747 Hamilton Rd. Suite D Columbus, GA 31904, or any other charitable organization of her your choice in her name.
