Elizabeth Woods

Elizabeth Lyda Woods, 80, of Columbus, GA passed away October 20, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held 12:30 PM Sunday, November 3, 2024, at East Highlands Methodist Church, 1301 17TH St, Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Elizabeth was born July 1, 1944 in Columbus, GA to the late Doris Sanders Lyda and Charles Edward Lyda. She was a member of East Highlands Methodist Church, and previously a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church for over 40 years where she served as Worship Committee Chair and lead the Alter Guild for 15 years. She loved her church family and devoted her life to the Lord; she participated in and served the Georgia Walk to Emmaus community to continue her devotions, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Other than her parents, Elizabeth is preceded by her daughters, Tiffany Ann Woods and Stephanie Anne Woods.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Harold Richard Woods, Sr of Columbus, GA; daughter, Wendy Wages (Eric) of Shiloh, GA; son, Harold Richard Woods, Jr. (Stephanie) of Fortson, GA; grandchildren, Stephanie Wages and Hal Woods.
