Elizabeth S. Jones, 66, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, January 15, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 20, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tommy Henschel officiating. Interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Jones was born January 30, 1945 in England daughter of the late Walter S. and Jean Northmore Wilhelm. She was a U.S. Army Veteran and later was a homemaker. She was also a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church in Smith Station, AL.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard A. Jones and brothers, Walter Scott Wilhelm and Robert Wilhem.
Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer Tavares (Cirk) of Springfield, VA and Janice Bloodworth (Dale) of Phenix City, AL, son, Jonathan Jones of Columbus, GA, sister, Mary Ponce (Mauricio) of Pheonix, AZ, grandchildren, Jessica Tavares, Adam Tavares, Daniel Bloodworth and Amanda Bloodworth, and one great granddaughter, Juliana Tavares.
