Elizabeth Rosa Grey

Elizabeth Rosa Grey, 74, of Columbus, GA passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 13, 2023 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2000 Kay Circle Columbus, GA 31907. A Rosary will be held at 5:30 PM Sunday, March 12, 2023 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory followed by a visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.

Elizabeth Grey was born in Indonesia in 1948. She's the oldest of eight kids. A mother, grandmother, aunt, and sibling. She had devoted friends and a Rosary partner. Her family moved to the Netherlands in 1956 and then in 1961 to Pasadena, California where she finished junior high and high school. Elizabeth then joined the Army, and served 21 years as a medic. She retired in 1991 at Fort Benning and has since been living in Columbus.

She is survived by her only son and his three children, her siblings, nieces, and nephews.

My Mom ended her life as she lived it: her way doing what she wanted to do, which was helping people based on God's commission in her beloved community of Columbus/Ft Benning, Georgia. She was a deeply devout Catholic, who followed the Blessed Virgin & the Church, her entire life and helped others to do so as well. She loved her family, she loved her freedom, she loved to travel, and she loved to help people. She will be greatly missed.
