Eli M. Helmuth

Eli M. Helmuth, 75, of Richland, GA died Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Columbus Speciality Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Hines officiating. A private interment will be held in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. Helmuth was born April 6, 1938 in Bremen, Indiana, son of the late Moses H. Helmuth and Minnie Hochstetler Helmuth. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving from 1958 to 1965. He later retired from Sunshine Biscuit Company after 35 years.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Helmuth and Mary Helmuth Chaplin and his brothers, Walter Helmuth, Levi Helmuth, William Helmuth, Henry Helmuth and Edwin Helmuth.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years,Mary Jane Beam Helmuth of Richland, GA; his daughter, Holly Jean Helmuth Gerstenschlager (John) of Lyman, SC; his son, Duane Keith Helmuth (Jennie) of Grayson, GA; six grandchildren, Christopher Jon Gerstenschlager, Bryan Scott Gerstenschlager, Madison Kratochvil, Gavin Daniel Helmuth, Nolan Dean Helmuth and Amelia Marie Helmuth; sisters, Clara Helmuth, Katherine Helmuth and Esther Stutzman all of Indiana; sister-in-law, Marlene Frances Smith and nephews, Michael Smith and Matthew Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.
