Eleanor Beatrice Rodgers, 93, of Ellerslie, GA died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Muscogee Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 9, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy Henschel and Reverend Ray Sutton officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Rodgers was born September 17, 1918 in Midland, GA daughter of the late Charlie O. and Minnie Whitley Moore. She worked as a saleswoman at Hersey's Department Store. She was a homemaker and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ellerslie, GA.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman R. Rodgers and two sons, Bobby J. Ammons and James Wayne Allen.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Elliott (Larry) of Ellerslie, GA, five grandchildren, Bobby Ammons, Jr., Daron Elliott, Matthew Elliott, Brooke Shasby and Josh Allen, and six great grandchildren, Kali, Dalton, Chandler, Emma, Camden, and Brynn.
