Edwin "Eddy" Wendell Phillips, 44, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Edgewood Presbyterian Church 3617 Macon Road Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Paul Coats officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, AL. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Phillips was born January 10, 1967 in Ft. Knox, KY son of Barbara Aldridge Phillips of Columbus, GA and the late Edwin B. Phillips. He was a Wrestling Promoter for Great Championship Wrestling. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Desert Storm. He was an avid toy and video game collector. Mr. Phillips was a member of Edgewood Presbyterian Church.
Other than his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Reagan.
Survivors other than his mother include his wife, China Phillips of Columbus, GA, son, Josh Phillips of Columbus, GA, grandmother and grandfather, Josephine Propps (Carl) of Columbus, GA, brother, Randell Phillips (Angie) of Savannah, GA and several nephews.
