Edward Lee “Buddy” Partain, Sr.

Edward Lee “Buddy” Partain, Sr., 91, of Cataula, GA died Sunday, September 24, 2023 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 27, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Jonathan Merritt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery.
Buddy was born August 5, 1932 in LaGrange, GA to the late, Jesse Marion Partain and Emma Lucille McDaniel Partain. He graduated from Perry Business College in LaGrange and enjoyed a long career in finance and sales. He served in the Air Force and was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. Buddy was an excellent baseball player, excelling in the LaGrange mill league. An avid golfer, he secured his first hole in one in 2008. In later years his most enjoyable days involved watching the Atlanta Braves, or Georgia Bulldogs football surrounded by his family, enjoying a good scramble dog.
He was a quiet, competitive man who truly loved his family and a joy to all he interacted with.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Edward Lee Partain, Jr., granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Partain, brothers, Joe Partain and James Partain.
He is survived by his wife, June Pasley Partain of Cataula, GA, daughter, Pamela Partain Gordon (Jeff) of Cataula, GA, daughter-in-law, Janet Kilcrease Partain of Midland, GA, grandchildren, Mathew Lee Partain, Pasley Ann Gordon, MD, Catherine Dianne Partain, Sarah Gordon Brown (Jeb), great-grandchild, Ann Davis Brown.
