Edward Prather

Edward "Ed" Prather, 78 of Columbus, GA died at his residence on September 27, 2024.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 1, 2024 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Matt Mouser and Rev. Joel Snell officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery following the service. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday, September 30, 2024 according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Ed was born on January 25, 1946, to the late Rossie Prather and Oleain Prather in Savannah, GA. Ed's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family, with whom he cherished spending time. Ed owned and operated Metro Building and Remodeling and he was a dedicated member of First Free Will Baptist Church where he served many positions.

His survivors include his wife of 60 years Mary Prather of Fortson, GA, daughters, Sherry Evans (Lee) of Phenix City, AL, Lisa Norsworthy (Jimmy) of Columbus, GA, sons, Adam Prather (Shannon) of Smiths Station, AL, Wade Prather (Brooke) of Fortson, GA, brothers, Doug Prather (Connie) of Salem, AL, Randy Prather (Teresa) of Columbus, GA , grandchildren, Andrew (Emily), Katie, Jacob, Caleb, Noah, Anna, John, Emma, Leah, Sara, Luke, Ava, Jase, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
