Edward David Griffin, Jr., 67, of Cataula, GA died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Clowers United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Dan MacMinn officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Griffin was born September 29, 1942 in Cataula, GA son of the late Edward David Griffin, Sr. and Annie Moore Griffin. He worked for 26 ½ years at Tom's Foods as a Shop Foreman and later worked for five years at Sara Lee as a mechanic. He was also a member of Cataula United Methodist Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Griffin and sister, Celia Akins.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Glenda Robertson Griffin of Cataula, GA, daughter, Vivian Wiggs (Tim) of Phenix City, AL, son, Edward Griffin, III (Page) of Cataula, GA, sister, Mary Talbot of Pine Mountain Valley, GA, three grandchildren, Christian Wiggs, Ethan Griffin, and Melissa Griffin, and several nieces and nephews.
