Edward "Pops" W. George

Edward "Pops" W. George, 67, of Columbus, GA died Monday, November 5, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Wynnton United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Mitchell officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Mr. George was born November 27, 1950 in Columbus, GA son of the late Robert F. George, Sr. and Inez Scott George. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War and later owned and operated Ed's Muffler.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Arie George, Henry George, Dorothy Young, Barbara Shofner and Patricia Reynolds.
Survivors include his wife, Erika Boehm George of Columbus, GA, children, Edward George, Jr. of Columbus, GA, Chris George (Terrie) of Cataula, GA, Jared George (Jacki) of Cataula, GA, Tim George of Columbus, GA, David Boehm of West Point, GA and Kreston George of Columbus, GA, siblings, Robert F. George, Jr. of Columbus, GA, Joseph George, Sr. (Vicky) of Phenix City, AL, Ricky George, Sr. of Columbus, GA, Annie May Rose (Tommy) of Wetherford, TX, Louise Ensor of Burleson, TX and Vicky Berry (Jack) of Louisville, GA, grandchildren, Brianna George, Brantley George, Morgan Springer (Lyndi), Kaleb George, Grayson George, all of Cataula, GA, Joshua Boehm and Jacob Boehm both of West Point, GA, and great-grandchildren, Paisley Ann Smith, Anna Grace Springer and Maylee Rae Springer all of Cataula, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org.
