Edna Jones Parmer, 94, of Columbus, GA died Monday, September 18, 2017 at Orchard View Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Jerry Speer and Rev. Ronnie Jordan officiating. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Phil Martin, James Crosby, Tony Bishop, Terry Green, Jonathon Williams and Jody Medley. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Parmer was born on April 16, 1923 in Newville, AL daughter of the late Nathan Jones and Belle Knowles. She retired from Bibb Mill and Tom's Foods. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan B. Parmer.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Max Fletcher of Columbus, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Benny and Debbie Parmer of Midland, GA; eight grandchildren, Wendy Bryan, Rhonda Medley (Jody), Lamar Bryan, Melody Bishop (Tony), Amy Martin (Phil), Ben Parmer, Glenn Fletcher (Ann), Angie Craft (John); fifteen great grandchildren; sixteen great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Nathan J. Jones (Agnes) of Newville, AL.
The family would like to extend thanks to the staff that cared for their mother at Orchard View Nursing Home.
