Edna Askew Hodge, 84, Midland, GA, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at Phenix City Health Care.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 16, 2014, at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Charles Keown officiating. Interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hodge was born September 3, 1929 in Montgomery, AL, daughter of the late Mary Lou Brady Mierta and step-father, Walter J. Mierta. She was a bookkeeper for K & C Enterprises and was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Grady David Askew and Arthur Leon Hodge.
Survivors include her son, David Askew (Rebecca) of Midland, GA; half-sister, Mary Francis Boyd of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Andrew David Askew of Ashville, NC, Emily Askew Russell (Scott) of Norcross, GA, and Amy Askew Bryan (Hunter) of Columbus, GA; three great-grandchildren, Elder Askew, Grady Camp Russell, and Elizabeth Mae Russell.
Flowers will be accepted but those who wish may make memorial contributions to Lakewood Baptist Church, 4011 Lakewood Drive, Phenix City, AL 36867.
