Edna Earle Hamby, 88 of Columbus died Friday, January 24th. 2014 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P. M. Sunday, January 26th at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Charles Hays officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 P. M. until service time in the chapel. A private interment will be held Monday, January 27th. 2014 in Parkhill Cemetery.
Mrs. Hamby was born September 19, 1925 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Fred Alonzo and Fannie Mae Mewborne Alverson. She was married to Willie "Bill" Washington Hamby, July 11 1941. Edna was a wonderful mother and a woman of God. She was a member of Edgewood Assembly of God.
Other than her parents, Mrs. Hamby was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hamby; a brother, Chester Alverson, and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Hamby.
Survivors include her children Garry Hamby(Marilyn), Donald Hamby(Linda); Grandchildren, Tracy Bowden(Jim), Heather Johnson, Brandi Jenkins, Amy Mann, Chris Mann, Joel Mann, Sherri Buell(Greg), Kelly Crookham(Lenny), great-grandchildren, Aaron Mann, Tyler Bowden, Meghan Hamby, Mindy Mann, Carson Mann, Dalton Johnson, Hunter Mann, Kelsey Hamby, Kendalle Jenkins, Alyssa Mann, Brittney Wilkes, Jordan Wilkes, Spencer Jones, and Kellen Crookham.
