Edith Irene White, 87, of Columbus, GA died Friday, January 12, 2018 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Bud Rupel, Rev. Robert Creel and Rev. Lamar Creel officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. White was born February 16, 1930 in Geneva County, AL daughter of the late Dewey and Cleo Smith Creel. She worked for 25 years in Billing and Switch Board for Columbus Mills. Mrs. White was a member of Evangel Temple and the Pairs and Spares Sunday school class. She loved everyone especially her family.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd White and her 8 siblings.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia "Pat" Alford (Larry) of Hamilton, GA and Diane Taylor (Steve) of Midland, GA, brother, Robert Creel (Rebecca) of New Brocton, AL, sister, Betty Farabee of Libby, MT, grandchildren, Kevin Alford (Brandy) of Hamilton, GA, Keith Alford (Angie) of West Point, GA, Ashley Saville (Jack) of Richmond, VA and Yancey Taylor (Katie) of Austin, TX, 5 great grandchildren, Jamie, Mason and Anneliese Alford, and Taylor and Luke Saville, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial donations be made to the Pairs and Spares Sunday school class at Evangel Temple 5350 Veterans Parkway Columbus, GA 31904.
