Edgar Devaughn Tallent, 89, of Dadeville, AL died Friday, May 18, 2018 in Opelika, AL.
The celebration of his life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA, with Rev. Paul Thomas, Rev. Bud Rupel and Rev. Watson McKemie officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus, GA. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Tallent was born November 28, 1928, in Americus, GA, son of the late Archie Guy Tallent and Marguerite Elizabeth Cheek Tallent. He worked in the grocery business and confectionery sales prior to his retirement.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mary Lee Buchanan Tallent and a grandson, Joshua Rigsby.
Survivors include his son, Michael Tallent (Charlotte); his daughter, Leigh Pfitzner (Kurt); granddaughter, Rachel Arnone (Donald); grandson, Asher Rigsby (Erin); four great-grandchildren, a great great-granddaughter, several nieces and nephews, and a host of dear friends.
