Earl D. Jackson, 84, of Columbus, GA died Friday, November 7, 2014 at Gentiva Hospice.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Parkhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday 5-7 PM at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Jackson was born October 27, 1930 in Sutton, WV son of the late Harlan Jackson and Bertha Mae Gillispie Jackson. He was an officer for 21 years for the Columbus, Ohio Police Department later working at Char-Broil in Columbus, GA. He was an active member of the Columbus FOP and was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara June Lovell Jackson and his son, Robert Earl Jackson.
He is survived by his daughter, Jodi Elaine Winebrenner (Gene) of Columbus, GA; sister, Rita Mae Luke of Blackfoot, Idaho; grandchildren, Krista Elaine Curenton (Tommy), Bethany Kaylin Rose Winebrenner- Collins (Kory), Tyler Earl Winebrenner and great granddaughter, Kayley Elaine Curenton all of Columbus, GA.
Flowers will be accepted; however, those who desire may make memorial contributions to Gentiva Hospice, 2425 Williams Road, Columbus GA 31909.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Gentiva Hospice for their care and compassion in their time of need.
