Durwood Rudolph Hix, 84, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, July 25, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Biggers officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers: Kenny McNair, Jr., Terry Mann, Jr., Sammy Brewer, Chris Brewer, Caleb Brewer, and Craig Brewer. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Hix was born December 3, 1929 in Henry County, AL son of the late George S. and Ozie Faulk Hix. He was in the U.S. Army and worked as a plumber.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Hix, three daughters, Deborah (Wade) Jenrette, Judy (Doug) Smith, Lynn (Jimmy) and Jaycie Holloway, one son, Derrell (Cheryl) Hix, grandson, Brendan (Meghan) and Easton Hix, one granddaughter, Nadia Holloway and great grandchildren, Jackson, Giada and Jep, and extended family.
