Duncan Henderson Williams, III, 64, of Columbus, GA, died Saturday, October 28, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Pastor Judy Hay officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Williams was born April 14, 1953 in Memphis, TN, son of Duncan Henderson Williams, Jr. and the late Marianne Rockett Williams. He graduated from Central High School in Memphis, where he lettered in football and basketball, and from the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
He was for many years a restauranteur in Columbus, GA and was part owner of McKinley's Restaurant. In recent years, he was a dealer in antiques.
Other than his mother, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Rembert Andrew "Drew" Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Williams of Columbus, GA; father, Duncan Henderson Williams, Jr. (Beverly) of Memphis, TN; his daughter, Sarah Calvert Ham (Jonathan) of Arlington, VA; his son, Duncan Henderson Williams, IV of Jackson Hole, WY; his brother, Marklin Haynes Williams (Laura Lee) of Scottsdale, AZ; Lisa Futrell of Midland, GA; grandchildren, Grace and Carter Ham; nieces and nephew, Marian Williams, Ellen Williams and Caleb Williams and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John B. Amos Cancer Center for Pancreatic Enzyme Replacement Therapy (PERT) in memory of Duncan Henderson Williams, III at 707 Center Street. Suite 100 Columbus, GA 31901.
Duncan would end this by saying "You can't hide talent".
