Duane Earl Hardesty

Ret. SFC Duane Earl Hardesty Sr., 79, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, September 15, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital.
A Military funeral service will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery.
Duane was born January 15, 1943 in Winchester, IN to the late John Hardesty and Lillie May Hardesty. He retired after 22 years as a Sergeant First Class in the US Army and for 19 years at the Columbus Water Works. In his free time he loved to hunt, fish, and cook for others. He also enjoyed volunteering with Scum Bugs, Bi-City Wood Turners, Wounded Warrior project, and different Motorcycle Clubs.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Un Ok Hardesty, of Columbus, GA, sons, Duane Hardesty Jr. of Muncie, IN, David Hardesty (Christy), of Muncie, IN, Jimmy Hardesty (Kelly) of Midland, GA, brother, William “Bill” Hardesty of Winchester IN, sisters, Sharon Gamester of Tucson, AZ, Barbra Alexander of Ansonia Ohio, three grandchildren, Brittany Lynn Hardesty,Lindsey Marie Hardesty,Debra Joe Campbell, and one great grandchild, Sylas Campbell.
