Dowling G. Harbert, 85 of Columbus died Monday, January 31, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, February 3, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA with Rev. Scott Hagan and Rev. Tommy Mayton officiating. A private entombment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Harbert was born June 1, 1926 in Arlington, GA son of the late John B. Harbert and Evie Givens Harbert. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during WWII. He was a troop transport driver with civil service and was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie R. Harbert of Columbus and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Epworth United Methodist Church, 2400 Devonshire Dr. Columbus, GA 31904.
