Douglas "Dougie" Andre Graham

Douglas (Dougie) Andre Graham, 64, of Columbus, GA departed this life on July 24, 2024, after a lengthy illness at St Francis-Emory Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2024 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Steve Hamilton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Douglas was born in Brooklyn NY at Kings County Hospital on December 24, 1959 to the late Sara Graham and John Cuningham.

Douglas attended Sarah J Hale High School; after receiving his GED he joined the United States Army and Reserves in 1979. Douglas received an Honorable Discharge from the military in December of 1985. Once Douglas left the military he came home to Brooklyn, NY to reunite with his family.

Douglas worked for the Mass Transit Authority in New York City for many years before relocating to New Jersey where he started working for the VA Hospital. After working there for seven plus years he resigned after falling ill.

Douglas was full of life and loved to be around family. He was witty sarcastic and only spoke in a language those who loved him would understand. Douglas always had a way of showing his love especially when it came to his nieces and nephews. He would take summer trips with his mother and the children to his family’s hometown in Raeford North Carolina. Douglas loved his family, and they loved him unconditionally.

Douglas is preceded in death by his mother, Sara Graham, father, John Cuningham. His brother’s, Johnny Graham, Bruce (Brucie) Cunningham, Donald (Rock) Cunningham, sister, Janet Cunningham, niece, Sade Chadwick

Douglas leaves to mourn his son, Douglas Andre Graham Jr., grandchildren, Douglas AndreGraham III, Laylia Ameera Graham, brothers, Maxwell Graham John Cunninghamhis sisters, Bridgette Graham, Lorice Minter (Roderick Minter), SoloraCunningham and Lynette Cunningham, nieces Precious, Charisma, Sara, Cassandra, Shetake, and Victasia, nephews Jermaine Tyshawn, and Roberts.

Special Mentions Douglas’s niece, Victasia Minter who followed in his footstep and join the US Army and Robert Graham who plans to join the US Army.

Douglas also leaves to celebrate his life a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and close friends.
