Douglas Long, 79, of Columbus, GA died Friday July 19, 2024 at his residence. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM-7:00PM Tuesday July 23, 2024 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 38747 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Douglas was born February 6, 1945 in Petersburg Indiana to the late Jerrel Long and Anna Long. He retired from the United States Air Force with 22 years of service, 3 years serviced in the Army and then retired from the United States Post Office. Douglas’s warm and outgoing nature made him a magnet for friendships. He had a knack for making everyone feel welcomed and valued, his genuine interest in others lives, and his comforting presence during difficult times. His love for poeple was evident in the countless lives he touched and the enduring relationships he nurtured over the years. Douglas Long will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of faith, Kindness, and love will continue to shine brightly through the lives he touched and values he imparted.
