Dot L. Parker, 87, passed away on March 19, 2022, in the care of her loving family in Bluewater Bay, Niceville, Florida. In 2018, she moved from Columbus, GA to Niceville, FL. Now it is time for her to return home to be beside her husband of 60 years at Park Hill Cemetery, Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM EST Saturday, March 26, 2022  in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

She was a wonderful wife,  mother, grandmother, and a great friend to many. Dot was a faithful member of Edgewood for the majority of her adult life.  Her greatest love was Jesus Christ. Christ said “Whomever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me” (Mark 9:36-37).  Dot lived this out on a daily basis by serving the children and families of Edgewood in the nursery. There are so many adults and families she impacted through this ministry.  The current pastor and his siblings were all cared for by Dot over the years.  She enjoyed all the children in the nursery and never forgot them.

Dot loved her family so much and had pictures of her grandchildren covering every wall of her home. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren.  If you ever spoke with her you would certainly end up in a conversation about one of them. She also loved gardening and having the greenest lawn on the block. She was a dedicated Army wife and lived in Hawaii in the 1950’s and again in the 1960’s. She took many vacations back to the islands to enjoy the beauty and always wanted to take one more trip to paradise. She made it to Paradise one final time on March 19, 2022.

Dot L. Parker was born 3 Sep 1934, in Cullman, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband, MST (Ret) Claude J Parker; her parents Ethel Bailey and Joe Bailey; her son, Mark Parker; her granddaughter, Dina Beesley; her grandson Eli Parker; a brother, JW Bailey; sisters Margie Denton, Gwenda Hill, and Rachel Walker.

She is survived by her children Diane Parker-Beesley (Rick Beesley) Niceville, FL, Scott Parker (Tracey Parker) Sugar Hill, GA, and Charline Parker-Bregartner (Louis Bregartner) Opelika, AL.

She leaves behind three grandchildren, Nicole Parker, Cameron Parker, and Austin Parker. She is survived by her sister Lyndsey Parker (Dee Parker) of Cullman, AL and brother J.E. Bailey (Peggy Bailey) of Warner Robins, GA.
