Dorothy “Dot” Perry Davis

Dorothy “Dot” Perry Davis, 93, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Columbus Hospice House surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM EST Saturday, January 7, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory  with Pastor Matt Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Dot was born in Dothan, Alabama on August 18, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Perry (Enfinger). She graduated from Baker High School in Columbus, Georgia in 1947. She married Jack Davis in 1948 and together they had four children. She went on to work for Southern Bell (AT&T), where she retired with 25+ years of service. To know her was to love her and there was never a time she didn't share her joy and laughter with others. She was pure light and always offered comfort to those who needed it. Dot loved drinking coffee, reading books, watching HGTV, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends. Dot has joined two of her children in Heaven, Jody, who passed in 1959, and Rhonda, who passed in 1999, her parents, Arthur and Mary Perry, and her nephew, Gary Johnson.

She is survived by her daughters, Jill Daly (Michael), Jenni Wallace (Cam), sister, Faye Johnson, grandsons, Trey Murdock, Matt Murdock, Evan Tanner (Hannah), Jack Tanner, granddaughters, Casey Wallace, Cami Wallace, great-grandson, Lane Tanner and nephew, Greg Johnson (Shara).

The family would like to express immense gratitude to her caregiver, Neet, the medical staff at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital, Dr. Gregory Foster, and Columbus Hospice for their support, care, and compassion for Dot over the last month of her life. Her humor and laughter were contagious and she never lost even a little bit of that throughout her battle with dementia.
