Dorothy Morgan Whatley, 88, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Billy Duncan officiating. A private interment will be held at Riverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Whatley was born September 23, 1921 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late James Alfred and Orabelle Kernodle Morgan. She was a homemaker and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church and of Beallwood Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Whatley, Jr., her sister, Clara Morgan Hearn and her brother, Harry Morgan.
Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy W. Martin of Columbus, GA and Connie Beaton (David) of Matthews, NC, son, James Fred Whatley of Columbus, GA, eight grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial donations to Beallwood Baptist Church 4650 Veterans Parkway Columbus, GA 31904.
