Dorothy Slavico Magnussen, aged 80, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on February 1, 2025, in Columbus, GA. Born on July 16, 1944, in Manhattan, NY, Dorothy was a beacon of joy and resilience throughout her life.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, 11:00AM at St. Anne Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00pm, Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Burial will be held 10:00 am Friday, February 7, 2025 at The Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY.

Dorothy's early years in New York were filled with the love and guidance of her parents, Henry Andrew Slavico and Lillian Chavier Slavico, and her siblings, David Charles Slavico, Louise Slavico, and brother Henry Slavico all of whom preceded her in death. Her vibrant spirit was a light to her family and all who knew her.

For 28 years, Dorothy dedicated herself to the NY Phone Company as a Maintenance Assistant, where she was known for her strong work ethic and amiable nature. Her marriage to Jeffery Magnussen was a testament to enduring love, spanning 34 years. The couple first made their home in Northern NJ, spending nine joyous years there before relocating to Columbus, where they enjoyed their cherished years together.

Dorothy's zest for life was evident in her hobbies. She relished the excitement of going on cruises, the thrill of a good day at the casino, and the sheer delight of dancing.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Jeffery, and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Dorothy's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
