Dorothy L. Goodman, 86, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, February 18, 2010 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, February 21, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend William McCluskey and Reverend Wallace Bell officiating. A private interment will be held in Riverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 3PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The following will serve as Honorary Pallbearers: James R. Goodman, William Larry Goodman, Freddie Manning, and the men of Grace Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Goodman was born January 18, 1924 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Willie King Barlar and Grace Franklin Barlar. She was a homemaker, an avid bird lover, and longtime member of Grace Church of the Nazarene where she maintained the church grounds for many years.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Hollace Monroe Goodman, brother, Kenneth Barlar, half brother, Ocie Barlar, son-in-law, Rylon Wills, granddaughter, Phyllis Carol Wills, and a great great grandson, Michael Dickerson, Jr.
Survivors include her two daughters, Sandra Wills and Carol Goodman both of Columbus, GA, one brother, Dr. Joseph D. Barlar (Ann) of Mobile, AL, two grandsons, Jack Leonard "Len" Wills (Cheryl) and Joseph Daren Wills, five great grandchildren, Amanda R. Wills, James L. Wills, Amanda N. Wills, Josie D. Wells, Payton A. Wills, and a great great grandson, Carson Wolfe.
