Dorothy H. (Dot) Daniel, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, June 28, 2018 at her residence at Covenant Woods.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 2, 2018 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held in Riverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home.
Mrs. Daniel was born December 21, 1927 in Columbus, Georgia daughter of the late Harry R. and Myrtle Turner Heck. She was a graduate of Jordan High School. In 1954, she and her husband William C. "Bill" Daniel founded Daniel Appliance Company where they enjoyed working together for many years.
Mrs. Daniel was a member of the Exchangette Club of Columbus, the Azalea Garden Club and was involved in various civic positions throughout her life. As a member of Living Grace United Methodist Church formerly Edgewood United Methodist Church, Mrs. Daniel served as a Sunday school teacher, youth superintendent and other leadership capacities at the church.
Other than her parents, Mrs. Daniel was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William C. "Bill" Daniel, son, Gary M. Daniel, Sr., brother, William R. Heck, sister, Francis Byrd Fort and niece, Martha B. Perdue.
Survivors include her son, Ronald D. Daniel, Sr. and his wife Terry of Columbus, Ga., grandchildren, Jennifer Harper (Wade), Gary "Micky" Daniel, Jr., Ronald D. Daniel, Jr. (Jennifer), Leigh Powell (Rett) and Laurie Huffman (Eli). Great grandchildren, Sarah Harper, Emily Harper, Claire Harper, Wade Harper, Jr., Miller Daniel, William Powell, Reese Powell, Raley Powell, Raegan Hoffman and Kynnedy Hoffman. Nephews, H. Russell Byrd (Carolyn) and Roger Perdue and numerous great nieces and nephews.
