Doris Hart Pridgeon, 91, of Pine Mountain, GA died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Magnolia Manor.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. EST (1:00 CST) Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery, 1954 Highway 165, Cottonton, AL 36851, with Reverend Ben Bennett officiating, according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Pridgeon was born September 23, 1922 in Jackson County, FL, daughter of the late Grady Meredith Hart and Trudy Askew Hart. She retired as an administrator for the tax collector of Gulf County, FL and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Harris County..
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Hamp D. Reaves and Harland O. Pridgeon; sister, Mary Alice Hart Taylor; her brother, Dr. Raymond Hart, and her daughters, Nina Sue Reaves Watson and Jane Reaves Sharpe.
Survivors include her sister, Sally Sue McLain of Tallahassee, FL; sons-in-law, Fred Sharpe and David Watson of Pine Mountain, GA; grandchildren, Lynne Watson Shaw, Neal Watson, Amy Watson, Sally Sharpe McNamee and Jenny Sharpe Fetterolf; and great grandchildren, Clay Watson, Emily Watson, Meredith McNamee, Lucy McNamee, Ellie McNamee, Abbigale Shaw, Caroline Shaw, Adam Fetterolf, Rachel Fetterolf and Reid Fetterolf..
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of Magnolia Manor and the nurses and staff of Gentiva Hospice.
