Doris Hammock Parker, 89 of Phenix City, AL died Monday, November 5, 2012 at Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Charles Keown and Dr. Frank Parr officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Parker was born February 27, 1923 in Dade County, Florida daughter of the late Bertie May Drew and Hattie Davis Drew. She was a Lab Tech for Eagle and Phenix Mill. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church and also the Senior Adult Choir.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Madison Franklin Parker and Walter Howard Hammock, the father of her children; her brothers Bobby and Ted Drew and a grandson Walter Pascal Hammock.
Survivors include her sons, Richard Drew Hammock (Jean) of Phenix City, AL and Walter B. Hammock (Carol) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Mark McDonald (Michelle) of Headland, AL, Scott Hammock of Ozark, AL, Jennifer Mummert (Michael) of Birmingham, AL and Cason Hammock of Columbus, GA and six great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of Columbus Hospice House for the loving care of their mother.
