Donald “Don” Buford Foster, 84, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Brookdale Assisted Living.
A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Friday, February 24, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Bill Douglas officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Don was born July 18, 1938 in Columbus, GA to the late Buford W. Foster and Carrie Mae Hart Foster. He graduated from Jordan high in 1956. He then attended Auburn University for two years and joined the Air Force serving 26 years as an air traffic controller. He was married to the late Noreen Richards for 38 years and they had three children. He met Cassandra in 1998 and was married 24.5 years. He loved to play golf, enjoyed playing and officiating softball for the MCSD district and officiating basketball.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Cassandra Foster of Columbus, GA, children, Michael Foster (Lora Anne) of Augusta, GA, Melissa Flournoy (James Bailey) of Columbus, GA, Scott Foster (Renate) of Warner Robbins, GA, grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer, Aeden, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
