Donald Munroe Underwood, 73, of Midland, GA died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, FL.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 19, 2012 at Parkhill Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Underwood was born April 11, 1938 in Columbus, GA son of the late Bryant W. and Estelle Jones Underwood. He was currently working with ESI Group in Vero Beach, FL as a Safety Consultant. He retired as a Regional Service Manager with Unisys Corp. and worked for ten years as a Corporate Safety Manager for Rental Service Company. He was also a member of Midland United Methodist Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene and Billy Underwood.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, LaVerne B. Underwood of Midland, GA, son, Michael Munroe Underwood (Donna) of Midland, GA, two daughters, Donna U. Antley (Kevin) of Midland, GA and Renee U. Palmer (Bill) of Burlington, N.C., brother, Phillip M. Underwood (Jan) of Birmingham, AL, and five grandchildren, Hilary Antley, Caleb Underwood, Seth Antley, Travis Underwood, and Sarah Palmer.
