Donald Francis Gran

Dr. Donald (Don) F. Gran Jr., 64, of Daytona Beach Shores, FL., passed away on September 7, 2017, surrounded by his family.
The Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Don was born in Rock Island, IL. on March 8, 1953. He was a graduate of Columbus High School and Duke University, where he played football. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1976, and entered private practice. He served in private practice until 1991. From 1991 until his death, he served as Dean of Academic Affairs at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, FL.
He was a humble man, who had a great sense of humor and sharp wit. He had a distinguished professional career, practicing in the U.S. and Italy. His career was culminated in his being inducted as a Fellow of Palmer Academy of Chiropractic. Dr. Gran was an author of numerous scholastic publications in both Chiropractic and Medical Journals. He was a loyal Duke University Basketball fan. He enjoyed good food and being with his family. He will be greatly missed!
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Donald F. Gran Sr. He is survived by his spouse of 41 years, Brenda N. Gran; Son, Wayne Gayles (Kristi ); Grandchildren, Raegan, Cal, and Molly Gayles; his mother, Neva Gran King; Sister, Ruthie Shemwell (Tom); Brothers, John A. Gran (Sara) and Thomas W. Gran (Elishua); Neices Lauren Shemwell and Jennifer Shemwell Mobley(Wes); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great-niece and nephew.
