Dolores "Dee" Mcconnell

Dolores "Dee" McConnell, 80 of midland, Georgia died September 17, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, September 23, 2022 in Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Ken Dawson officiating.

Mrs. McConnell was born July 22, 1942 in Bainbridge, Georgia daughter of the late John Melvin and Doris Ray Cox. She worked as an executive administrative assistant most of her working career, the majority at Lummus Industries for over 30 years.  She enjoyed volunteering her time as a pink lady at St. Francis Hospital for many years. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, traveling, growing roses, and her dogs.  Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family.  She spent many days, nights, and weekends attending her son’s, grandsons, and granddaughter’s athletic and academic events.  She was their biggest fan, and always had a word of encouragement.

Other than her parents, Mrs. McConnell was preceded in death by her grandmother, Oma M. Ray and her brother Charles E. Cox.

Survived include her son - Walter McConnell,  Jr. and his wife Beth McConnell, granddaughter - Rachael McConnell and grandson - Walter McConnell III, several special nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends
