Dimple Strother, 94, of Pine Mountain, GA died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. EST Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Pickett Cemetery in Shopton, AL with Chaplain Vern Jordin officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. EST Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at West Point Presbyterian Church 1002 5th Ave. West Point, GA 31833 with Reverend Gerry Ledbetter officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Strother was born November 26, 1915 in Louisville, AL daughter of the late Charles Franklin and Docia Williamson Olds. She worked at the Callaway Gardens Resort as a Sales Assistant. She was a member of West Point Presbyterian Church in West Point, GA and was a charter member of the Gardens Club of West Point. She also worked as a Girl and Boy Scout Leader, and did volunteer work for the American Cancer Society and for Meals on Wheels. She and her husband were very active with the Rotary Club Foreign Student Exchange Program.
