Dewey Paul Williams, 100 of Columbus, Georgia died Thursday December 31, 2020 at Columbus Hospice House.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Parkhill Cemetery 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. 31907, with Reverend Billy Duncan officiating. Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, we encourage everyone to make the best decisions to remain safe. If anyone wishes to attend the graveside service, please remember to remain 6 feet apart from those not in your household and wear personal protective equipment.
Mr. Williams was born September 6, 1920 in Holmes County Florida son of the late Dewey and Florene Blackburn Williams. He retired from owning and operating retail grocery businesses for over fifty years. Paul enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. He was a lifelong member of Edgewood Baptist Church, the American Legion, Masonic member and a U.S. Army veteran in World War II.
Other than his parents Paul was preceded in death by his wife Ruth King Williams, daughter, Debra K. Henderson, sister’s, Bonnie Ruth Mckay, Gene Williams Trester, Annie Merl Justice, brother’s David W. Williams, Tommy R. Williams, and James Ray Williams
Survivors include his son, Phillip B. Williams and his wife Brenda of Pine Mountain Valley, Ga. 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, brother Russell M. Williams and his wife Gail of Phenix City, AL, many nieces and nephews that he deeply cared for.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Williams.
