Derrick Lamar "DG" Ramsey, 35, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on June 15, 2024. Born on November 28, 1988, in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, DG was known for his athletic prowess, creativity, and loving nature.
A service to celebrate Derrick's life will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, June 28, 2024 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
DG spent his free time pursuing various hobbies that reflected his creative spirit and love for the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, a talented drawer, and enjoyed writing songs. His interests not only brought joy to his own life but also to those around him.
He was a cherished member of The Church of Columbus, where he participated in community activities and formed lasting relationships.
DG is survived by a loving family: his father, David Ramsey; mother, Ruth Ramsey (Thomas); sisters, Danielle and Charmaine Ramsey; brothers, Marcus Ramsey and Devin Walters; aunts, Debra; Marie Tate (Walter), Sharon Thomas, uncle, Marvin Thomas (Catherine), Curtis Thomas as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, and a niece. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
