Derrick Stephen Pearce, 53, of Midland, GA died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery 1129 Double Churches Rd. Columbus, GA 31904 with Reverend Ralph Horne officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Pearce was born June 2, 1957 in Columbus, GA to Mrs. Etta V. Stinson Pearce of Midland, GA and the late Richard D. Pearce, Sr. He was a 1976 graduate of Hardaway High School. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard D. Pearce, Sr., a brother, Richard D. Pearce, Jr., grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell D. Pearce and Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Stinson.
Survivors other than his mother include a sister-in-law, Diana Pearce, nephew, Michael D. Pearce, niece, Jennifer A. Pearce all of Plum Branch, SC, cousins, Rob Storey (Lori) of Phenix City, AL, Brenda Ann Storey (John) of Phenix City, AL, Jimmy Slavey (Donna) of Alexandria, VA, and uncle, Jame Slavey of Alexandria, VA.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial donations to the John B. Amos Cancer Center 1831 5th Ave. Columbus, GA 31904.
