Denver was born April 28, 1989 in Columbus, GA and was raised in Waverly Hall, GA with his parents and sister. Denver's kind nature, wide smile and outgoing personality meant that he never knew a stranger, and pulled others to him to form lasting friendships. After graduating from Harris County High School, Denver joined the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving the country he loved and protecting those around him. He served two tours in Afghanistan as a decorated LCpl. His commitmnet as a Marine and service to his country will always be a source of pride for his family. Denver preferred and loved the quiet of nature, spending as much time as he could out-of-doors camping, fishing, or just enjoying a quiet country evening. Denver's sense of humor guaranteed that his time spent with family and friends was as the person who brought the laughter out. If he wasn't the resident comedian, then he was always the one entertaining his loved ones and friends through his storytelling and love of music. Whether it was laughter over a meal at home, spinning a yarn on a night with friends, or singing with his guitar at the local VFW, Denver drew others to him with the light of his personality and the beauty of his spirit.

Denver was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jessie E. Hardy, Sr. and Denver O. Short.

Denver is survived by his loving parents, Danny W. Short and Connie S. Hardy Short of Waverly Hall, GA; his older sister, Tammie M. Short and brother-in-law, William T. Pierce of Columbus, GA; his girlfriend, Olivia Ruth Roberson of Waverly Hall, GA; and paternal and maternal grandmothers, Christa A. Short of Waverly Hall, GA and Betty J. Lee of Columbus, GA. Denver is also surivived by a large family of loving aunts, uncles and cousins; close and kindred friends, and his extended family of Marine brothers-in-arms at home and overseas. The memory of his beautiful spirit will never be forgotten by those that knew and loved him.
