Dennis "Alan" Neal, Jr., 47, of Cataula, GA passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, June 20, 2020 in Harris County, GA.
A private memorial service will be held for family at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Bethesda Baptist Church, 3830 GA-85 Ellerslie, GA 31807 with Rev. David Helms officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, social distancing will be in effect. The services will be live streamed on the church's website for those who are unable to attend.
Alan was born February 13, 1973 in Phenix City, AL to the late Dennis Alan Neal, Sr. and Alice Lynne McDonough Harrison. Alan worked at United Rentals for 18 years before starting a job in management and sales for Fuller Fire and Safety. Alan was hardworking and always enjoyed the people he worked with as well as meeting new people. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors, he was also a self proclaimed professional golfer. He loved Auburn football but most of all he loved spending time with his wife, daughters and his family. Alan is preceded in death by his father, Dennis Alan Neal, Sr., father-in-law, Wayne Rhodes, maternal grandparents, Henry Kirkland Neal (Hazel Marie), paternal grandfather, Thomas James McDonough and maternal grandmother, Elsie Jane Fletcher McDonough.
He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Shelly Rhodes Neal of Cataula, GA, daughters, Rylee and Lily Neal of Cataula, GA, mother, Alice Lynne Harrison (Tony) of Columbus, GA, sister, Fletcher Neal of Phenix City, AL, mother-in-law, Charlene Rhodes of Columbus, GA, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or American Diabetes Association in memory of Alan.
