Dennis Lamar Fisher, 69, of Panama City Beach, FL died Friday, December 5, 2014 at his residence. He bravely fought cancer this past year.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Fisher grew up in Columbus, GA and graduated from Jordan Vocational High School and Columbus College, having majored in corporate finance. He was a retired system analyst, having worked for both the U. S. Army and U. S. Navy. He was a great bass and trout fisherman, with numerous trophies for his efforts. He also enjoyed golf and tennis. He was passionate and participated in the delivery of Meals on Wheels for the homebound. He was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Columbus, GA.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Jamie Savage Fisher; nieces, Denise McSwain Teal, Jessica Lenora Savage, and Julie Nichole (Nikki) Savage; nephew, Billy E. McSwain; and brothers-in-law, Thomas A. Savage and Terry Vaughn.
He was preceded in death his brother-in-law, James (Billy) William Savage, Jr.
His wife would like to thank the staff at Gentiva Hospice Health, LaVita West End Dialysis Clinic, Emerald Coast Sacred Heart Hospital, HealthSouth Rehab, and Gulf Coast ICU. They all attended him with love and respect.
