Debra was born in Columbus, Georgia, on the August 19,1954; she was a beacon of love and joy in the lives of all who knew her, embodying the very essence of a life well-lived. She was a woman of unwavering faith and boundless love. She walked through this world with a heart full of grace, leaving a legacy of warmth and kindness that will forever be cherished. Debra was a graduate of Jordan High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and laid the foundation for a future as bright as her smile.
Upon completing her education, Debra entered the workforce with enthusiasm, dedicating many years of service to AAA Cooper Transportation. It was here that she not only demonstrated her strong work ethic and commitment but also her innate ability to uplift and inspire her colleagues. Debra was a woman who invested her heart and soul into every task, turning the ordinary into extraordinary through her loving touch.
Married to her beloved husband, the late Bert Coker, Debra found true partnership and companionship. Together, they navigated life's highs and lows, always anchored in their shared love and devotion. Debra's family was her pride and joy, a tapestry of love woven with the threads of togetherness and support. She was a cherished daughter to her mother, Ruth Turner, and her late father, Woodrow Turner. Debra was a loving sister to her late brother, Ronnie Turner, and a guiding light to her children, Seth Coker, and his wife, Joy, as well as Jeannie Clouatre, and her husband, Danny.
Debra's role as a grandmother was one she held most dear, embracing every precious moment with her beloved grandchildren, Joseph, Dylan, Maddie, and Eli. Her love knew no bounds, and her presence at their sporting events was a testament to her unwavering support and pride. Debra's family extended beyond the immediate circle, including many cousins, nieces, and nephews each of whom felt the warmth of her love and the strength of her spirit.
A woman of diverse interests, Debra's passions painted a picture of a life rich in joy and engagement. Her love for Elvis Presley was matched only by her love for cultivating beauty in her garden, growing flowers and plants with a tender touch. An avid sports fan, Debra cheered with fervor for Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves, her spirit as indomitable as the teams she supported.
Debra's legacy is one of love, optimism, and faith. She navigated life's challenges with a steadfast belief in the goodness of the Lord, and her optimism was a light that could not be dimmed. Her faith-filled journey was a source of inspiration, a reminder to all of us that grace and love can carry us through the darkest of times.
As we bid farewell to Debra Ann Coker, let us do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with her. Let us honor her memory by embodying the qualities she exemplified: loving without reservation, facing each day with optimism, and nurturing our faith with the same fervor she did. Debra's spirit will live on in the gardens she tended, the music she adored, and most profoundly, in the lives of those she touched.
In the words of Scripture, "Well done, good and faithful servant... enter thou into the joy of thy lord." (Matthew 25:23) Debra Ann Coker has indeed entered that joy, and while we will miss her dearly, we rejoice in the knowledge that she rests in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who preceded her in passing, including her husband, Bert, brother, Ronnie, father, Woodrow, and many more who welcomed her with open arms.
May the life of Debra Ann Coker serve as a beacon to guide us, and may her love continue to blossom in our hearts, today and always.
John 16:22 “So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.”
Amen.
