Deborah "D" Avery

Deborah “D” Avery, 66 of Valley, Alabama went to be with the Lord and her family on January 27th, 2022.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 29, 2022 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Don Horton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Deborah was born January 1, 1956 in Abbeville, AL to the late Lurlene Horton and Donny “Chief” Horton. She had a dedicated career with CB&T/TSYS for 44 years. She was known as a caregiver and a true southern belle. She was a beautiful, precious woman with the most giving heart. She made her mark in this world by treating everyone with endless love and with kindness. She was very proud of all of her children and grandchildren. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Darrell Adkins.

She is survived by her sister Donna Cadena of Columbus, Georgia and brother, Don “Red” Horton of Lilburn, Georgia, her children, Crystal Avery, Matt Avery both of Columbus, Georgia and Josh Mathis of San Antonio, Texas. She will be missed by her grandchildren Caden, Mady, Helena and Ryder and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that everyone pay it forward with an act of kindness to someone as D would have.
