David E. Tice, 63 of Columbus died January 15, 2020 at Saint Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 20, 2020 at Parkhill Cemetery with Dr. Tim Jones officiating. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
David was born June 22, 1956, in Columbus, Georgia, son of the late Otto Eugene Tice and Georgia Ruth Tice. He retired after 30 years from Aflac and was presently working at Columbus State University as a Data Entry Quality Assurance Manager. David coached Men's Softball and was known as "Captain Dave." He was also a member at First Baptist Church, was on the Aflac bowling league, was an avid sports, movie, and music collector, and loved the Atlanta Braves and Alabama Football "Roll Tide".
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Donna Pickett Tice of Columbus, Georgia, three daughters, Brittany Tice Riley (MSG. Christopher) of Fresno, California, Rachel Louise Tice of Memphis, Tennessee, Katherine Kennon Tice of Columbus, Georgia, sister Wanda Ruth Tice of Columbus, Georgia, father and mother-in-law, Charles and Faye Pickett of Columbus, Georgia, sister-in-law Alice Pickett of Columbus, Georgia, and brother-in-law CPT. Charles "Chuk" Pickett (Billie Jean) of Columbus, Georgia, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in memory of David, at 233 12th Street Suite 710 Columbus, GA 31901.
