David Lawrence Oesterreicher, age 59, died at his home in Houston, TX on Monday, February 14, 2011.
A memorial service in David's memory will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 in the Turner Chapel of St. Luke United Methodist Church 1104 2nd Avenue Columbus, GA 31901 with Dr. Hal Brady officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
David was born September 7, 1951 in Oklahoma City, OK to Dr. Donald Lawson Oesterreicher and Bobbie Deaton Oesterreicher. He grew up in Columbus, GA and graduated from Hardaway High School. He attended LaGrange College before moving to Houston, TX in 1974. David retired from The Xerox Corporation with 25 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, the beach, and Southern and Western Cuisine.
David was a kind and generous person with many friends and he always looked for, and brought out the best in people.
David is survived by his sister, Donna Oesterreicher Kemp (her husband, Billy), two nephews, Tom Kemp and Britt Kemp (his wife, April), a great niece, Katherine Kemp, a great nephew, Caleb Kemp, aunts, Jane G. Deaton, Jean Parrish and Mary Lu Wiley (her husband, Bill), and several cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Outreach Ministries of St. Luke United Methodist Church Columbus, GA or to Second Blessings West Houston Assistance Ministries, Inc. 3100 Rogerdale Road Houston, TX 77042.
